Anne Arundel County Police Search for Red Crown Robber

Shirtless, barefoot bandit robs Laurel area hotel.

Anne Arundel County police continue to search for a man who robbed a Red Crown Inn last week.

The incident happened July 26 shortly before 4 a.m. along the 3400 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road. Police responded to calls for service from the hotel for a reported robbery of a business. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a male clerk, who stated that he was in a booth inside the hotel when a male suspect approached and implied that he had a weapon.

The suspect then entered the booth and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash drawer and fled the area on foot in an unknown direction, according to police. Several officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect, who was described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-8, 200 pounds with a dark complexion and possible scars on his back, wearing a dark shirt over his face, blue jeans, white socks and not wearing a shirt or shoes.
