According to The Daily Progress, a man with Laurel roots was charged with multiple counts in Charlottesville.

A 23-year-old homeless man, formerly of Laurel, was arrested in Charlottesville, VA, Monday and charged with attempted murder, The Daily Progress reports.

Samuel Erik Wheless, 23, was being held on allegations of "attempted murder, brandishing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, use of a firearm while committing a felony and sexual battery," the paper reported.
