Man Observed by Police Committing Robbery at Mall Pleads Guilty
The Columbia man pleads guilty to a single count of armed robbery.
A Columbia man who committed an armed robbery in the Mall in Columbia parking lot as police looked on from a nearby parking garage pleaded guilty to armed robbery in Howard County Circuit Court on Friday.
Odell Kareem Copeland, 32, was arrested in September after he and another man, Pierre Antwan Booth, 28, of Randallstown, were observed by police robbing a man inside his car in the mall parking lot near Union Jack's.
The police report said officers wrote that Copeland acted as a lookout as Booth held a pistol to the man and stole his cigarettes, car keys, $75 and a cell phone.
Copeland is scheduled to be sentenced on May 28, according to a spokesperson for the Howard County state's attorney's office. Booth is scheduled to stand trial on Feb. 27.
