More than 200 people showed up for the opening of the new North Laurel Community Center on Whiskey Bottom Road.

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman, Recreation and Parks Director John Byrd and Councilwoman Jen Terrasa spoke to the crowd, made up of many middle and high school kids anxious to play basketball or skateboard.

Patch will have more on the grand opening over the weekend.
