Round Up: Family Fun Events in Prince George’s County This Weekend

Here are some fun things to do around town with the family this weekend.

 

 

Where/When:  1720 North Crain Highway, Upper Marlboro, MD,

Friday, June 8, 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Saturday, June 9, 2012, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Sunday, June 10, 2012, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Why to go:  Will you get lost in these 10 acres of corn maze?...Not if you bring your flashlight and 3D glasses!

You will receive a game sheet and a map (that you can only see with your 3D glasses!)

Friday and Saturday night, bring your flashlight for extra fun.

Entrance also includes hay rides, petting zoo, pig races and more.

There is more fun for an additional fee including moon bounce, pumpkin chuckin, barrel train and scarecrow making.

Pricing: Adults: $10.00 / Kids (3-12) $8.00 / Kids under 3: FREE

 

Where/When:  11704 Ferno Rd, Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary Visitor's Center

Upper Marlboro, Maryland 20772, Saturday, June 9, 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Why to go:  Enjoy bicycling through a beautiful rural legacy area; 24, 46 or 62 miles.

Pricing: $30.00

 

Where/When:  Riversdale House Museum, 4811 Riverdale Rd., Riverdale Park, Maryland 20737

Why to go:  Early 19th century America was greatly influenced by the classical world. Celebrate ancient Rome as you participate in activities and watch battle demonstrations by Legion XX on the lawn and enjoy neoclassical pastimes inside the museum.

Pricing: $5.00 per person / $3.00 per student

 

Where/When:  Watkins Nature Center, 301 Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro 20774, Friday, June 8, 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Why to go:  Enjoy stories, an animal show, and roasting marshmallows. Reservations are required.

Pricing: Residents: $3.00 / Non-Residents: $4.00

 

Where/When:  College Park Aviation Museum, 1985 Cpl. Frank Scott Drive, College Park 20740, Friday, June 8, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Why to go:  Kids will love to join in on hands-on aviation-themed activities at this weekly series for children ages five and up.

To schedule a group larger than 10, please call the museum to make a private group reservation.

Pricing: FREE with museum admission or Adults: $4.00 / Children: $2.00

 

Where/When:  Bladensburg Waterfront Park, 4601 Annapolis Road, Bladensburg 20710,   Friday, June 8, 12 noon-12:45 pm

Why to go:  Join a naturalist on our 40-seat pontoon boat for an environmental or historical tour of the scenic Anacostia River.

Groups of 12-40 people or more may schedule their own environmental or historical tour. Persons 16 & under must be accompanied by an adult.
