The Prince George's delegation is launching a work group this summer to determine how the liquor sales would be regulated.
Sunday Funday revelers may no longer have to leave Prince George's County to buy rum, tequila, vodka and other liquors on Sunday, if the county's representatives can agree on a method. The Prince George's County delegation announced it will be launching a work group to discuss and reach a concensus on how the sale of liquor would be regulated in the county. Griffith will chair the group, which will have its first meeting Tuesday, May 14 at 6 p.m. in the Media Room of the County Administration Building on Governor Oden Bowie Drive in Upper Marlboro. "I …

Owner Brian White says White’s Barber Co. takes pains to offer a 'higher level of service.'
A local barbershop nestled in the historic district of Laurel is quietly working to elevate the art of barbering. Brian White, the 37-year-old owner of White’s Barber Co., is on a daily mission to offer top-notch service and style to his customers with a team consisting of his wife, Jenae, and barbers Pete Leavitt and Tim Gill. White and his coworkers believe the standards in the barbering industry have significantly declined in the past few decades, a trend they've fought against in their own shop. “It’s the way we dress, the way we work, the skill level, and the attention we give our clients,” said Leavitt. The standard uniform for barbers consists of khakis, a tie, and a dress shirt—just one of many small but important touches found in …

There is absolutely no reason that there should be a ban on liquor on Sundays. So we can have Beer and Wine on Sunday...but no "hard" liquor. Craziest law ever. This is long overdue for a change. I think we as Prince Georgians and Americans are capable of making decisions whether or not we want to buy liquor one more day a week. It's always this vocal minority who thinks they can dictate what the…   more ›
