BB&T Insurance Services Transforms Room at Grassroots

Members of the Columbia office of BB&T Insurance Services have transformed the family room at Grassroots, Howard County’s crisis intervention center and emergency shelter.

A four-member team, led by Lynn Kopenhaver and including Amanda Rendell, David Saul and David Shellem, painted the room, refinished a table and replaced the furniture with three new sofas, a coffee table and area rug the company purchased.

The volunteers were participating in the BB&T Lighthouse Project, an annual company-wide community service effort held during work hours. Taking a break from the painting project at Grassroots are (from l.) staff member Anna Katz, David Shellem, Lynn Kopenhaver, David Saul and Amanda Rendell.
