Looks Salon Raises $15,000 for Grassroots Suicide Prevention

Looks Salon and Spa’s 11th Annual Looks for Life, a benefit for Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, raised $15,000. Proceeds support Grassroots’ suicide prevention efforts, such as counseling, round-the-clock hotline services and education programs. The event was hosted by Looks manager Briagh Jameson Strott and salon owner Marilyn Petersen, in memory of their brother and son, Patrick Jameson, who lost his life to suicide in 2002. The annual fundraiser has garnered over $135,000 since it started.

All of the employees at Looks donated their services, which were discounted on the day of the fundraiser. Local businesses and Looks patrons sponsored the salon’s stylist and nail stations, and customers bought raffle tickets and silent auction items. In addition, Looks held a preview party at Sonoma’s Bar Grill, which donated some of the evening’s proceeds to Grassroots.
