Mark Bowser from Laurel wins CarMax Cares Community Service Award

Mark Bowser from Laurel has been recognized by the nation's largest retailer of used cars with a 2013 CarMax Cares Community Service Award winner. Mark is a sales manager-in-training and has assisted a wide variety of nonprofit organizations through leading associate volunteer team-builders, and he was a team leader in a recent KaBOOM! playground build for KIPP Baltimore. Each of the winners chose a nonprofit to receive a $5,000 grant from The CarMax Foundation and Mark chose Capital Partners for Education.

Mark says, "Winning this award has been a humbling experience. It reminds me of what my parents taught me when I was a young man – that I have a duty to give back to the communities in which I live and work. I have been blessed to work for a company that shares this vision of community service."

Associates across the country were nominated for the fourth annual CarMax Cares Community Service Award for their personal volunteer efforts and leadership in community giving. The 10 winners of the award were honored at the company’s largest associate recognition event of the year.
