Watershed Stewards Academy Information Night

The Howard County Watershed Stewards Academy Advisory Committee is recruiting volunteers for the first class of adults who want to learn how to design and build rain gardens and other projects to reduce the stormwater that flows from rooftops, roads and parking lots into streams and rivers and pollutes the Chesapeake Bay.

Information Night is Tues., Aug. 28, 7 pm at the Miller Branch of the Howard County Library.

After 15 weeks of coursework, volunteers will be given the tools to build a Capstone Project in their local community. Classes begin  on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012  at the University of Maryland Extension Howard County, 3300 N. Ridge Rd., Suite 240, Ellicott City, MD.
