It's going to be another fun filled weekend throughout the region.  With festival season in full swing and age appropriate events being rolled out as the weather warms, here are few things happening right around the corner.

Where/When: The Washington Monument at Constitution Avenue and 17th Street N.W in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: It's this festival's first year, so come out and see creative kite-makers and skilled kite-fliers put on fun and exciting demonstrations and competitions. You can even build your own kite (while supplies last) or buy one!

Why Go: If your child is a reluctant reader or just needs some extra help with reading skills, sign him or her up for this reading session with a very patient teacher: a specially-trained canine friend! Each reader will read for about 15 minutes, and registration is required. (For kids between the ages of 5 and 12.)
