Heat Advisory In Effect in Prince George’s Until 7 p.m. Tonight

High temperatures and humidity could lead to heat-related illnesses.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Prince George’s County from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. today due to high temperatures and heat index values.

Temperatures are expected to reach the upper-90s and the heat index will peak at 105, according to the National Weather Service.

During heat advisories, the combination of high temperatures and humidity can lead to heat-related illnesses, especially for individuals who work outdoors or do not have air-conditioning.

If you are doing strenuous work outside, the National Weather Service encourages you to work in the early morning or evening if possible. Take rest breaks in shady areas, wear light, loose-fitting clothes and drink plenty of water.
