Memorial Day Weekend Round Up: Family Fun Events Near Prince George's County

Here are some fun things to do around town with the family this weekend.

Friday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Why to go:  You will receive a game sheet and a map (that you can only see with your 3D glasses!)

Friday and Saturday night, bring your flashlight for extra fun.

Entrance also includes hay rides, petting zoo, pig races and more.

There is more fun for an additional fee including moon bounce, pumpkin chuckin, barrel train and scarecrow making.

Pricing: Ages 13 and up, $10, Ages 3-12, $8, Children under 3 are free

Why to go:  1 hour long concert performed by Heart of Maryland Chorus, entertainment for all ages.

Where/When:  Maryland Science Center, St. John Properties IMAX Theater,  601 Light St, Baltimore, MD,  Friday, May 25, 2012, 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.  (Additional show times.)

Why to go:  Get chummy with massive underwater predators of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods in Sea Rex 3D: Journey to a Prehistoric World, now playing in the St. John Properties IMAX Theater.

Pricing: $8.00 (Tickets to Sea Rex 3D are also available as part of admission to the Maryland Science Center).

Where/When: SPAGnVOLA Chocolatier Truffle Factory, 360 Main St, Gaithersburg, MD, 2:00 p.m – 6:00 p.m.

Why to go:  Come visit The Truffle Factory and take a FREE factory tour and learn about the origin of cacao trees, how they are harvested, fermented, dried and then subsequently turned into premium single-estate chocolate.

Where/When: Laurel Mill Playhouse, 508 Main Street, Laurel, MD, Friday, May 25, 2012, 8:00 p.m.

Why to go:  Watch as three families learn to live in America in the early 20th Century.

These families face their own challenges through prejudice, poverty, riches and depression.

Filled with inspirational music, the whole family will be engaged until the last act!
