Rough waters await college-bound students from the class of 2012, according to a study that says more than half of students aren’t ready for college, based on SAT scores.
This week the College Board, which administers the SAT, released its annual SAT Report on College & Career Readiness, finding that only 43 percent of students in 2012 taking the SAT are ready for college-level work.
Since the SAT scores are used to predict a student’s likelihood of academic success, the study suggest that a student’s ability to graduate from college is a keystone to sustain American competitiveness and prosperity in the future.
