Laurel Park Fair at Museum Features Pie Eating Contest and Water Balloons

The Laurel Museum is hosting a Kids Sunday June 12 from 1:30-3:30with A Laurel Park Fair theme.  The family-friendly event will feature nostalgic fair games like a bean bag throw, water balloon toss, and fishing.  A pie-eating contest will challenge those with robust appetites and there will be snow cones.  Part of the Laurel Museum’s Kids Sunday Series, the June event uses the theme of its current exhibit “And They’re Off! 100 Years of Laurel Park” to include “horse racing” and a “balance Beam High Wire Act” as part of its activities.  In addition to horse racing, Laurel Park was also the site of state fairs and carnival like activities over the years.  The day is rain or shine, and in the case of the former or if there is excessive heat, will move inside.  The Laurel Museum is located at 817 Main Street, Laurel, Maryland.  Tickets are $5.00/each. Reservations can be made by calling 301-725-7975 or e-mailing assist@laurelhistoricalsociety.org.  Information and a reservation form is at www.laurelhistoricalsociety.org.
