Fourth Annual Men's Health Fair Saturday

The free event will feature health screenings and education for men.

Take advantage of a free community health event this weekend, for your own good.

Howard County Council Member Calvin Ball will be hosting the fourth annual Howard County Men's Health Fair on Saturday at from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The fair will feature free screenings for blood pressure, body mass index, kidney health, dental, vision, prostate, pulmonary function, spinal and more.

In addition, snacks will be provided courtesy of Wegmans, La Fiesta and other local vendors, according to Ball.

"My approach is simple," said Ball, "whether you do or do not have health care or simply want to kick-start taking care of your health, this is the place to be. As I see many events geared towards women, our aging population or any other targeted group, it's so important to me to keep this mission alive and promote opportunities that focus on men's health."

The event is open to the public, including women and children and there is no prior registration required. Live entertainment will be provided courtesy of the 92Q Street Team from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. For questions, contact Councilman Ball's office at 410-313-3105.

Editor's Note: an original version of this story incorrectly listed the time of the fair. The fair is from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. We apologize for the mistake.

Yet another example of a sickness focused view of health. Look at the pic of Ulman and Ball- they are so out of shape they couldn't do 3 chinups between them. If they any scruples at all they'd be ashamed of themselves.

Geeez, Ohai, I'm going to have to stand up and say they both look like they're in pretty good shape. And screenings help detect sickness before it gets out of control, isn't that a form of preventative medicine?

So you think they could do more than 3 chin ups between them? LOL

I bet Calvin can, I'll ask CE Ulman if he can next time I see him.

Better yet, maybe Ken can attempt to do some chins at this event. We'll see what Mr. Healthy Howard really thinks about being healthy in Howard.
