North Laurel Gears Up to Discuss New Business

The North Laurel Civic Association will be meeting Monday at 7 p.m. to discuss the possible addition of a new Royal Farms to the Route 1 area. The association would like to encourage residents on both sides of the fence to attend so all sides of the issue can be addressed. A Royal Farms representative will be there to discuss the proposed site and assuage any concerns residents may have.

Also discussed during this meeting will be the National Night Out event taking place on Aug. 2 at the Laurel police station. The civic association is hoping many residents come out to the station in support of this national event. Members also would like to know about any other National Night Out events taking place in the area so everyone will be aware of other neighborhood venues to attend.

The last event on the roster for the night is the yearly picnic. The association hopes this picnic will become a yearly event that will serve all neighborhoods in the Laurel area. Right now, the association is looking to host this picnic either the first or second weekend following the Labor Day weekend. Members ask that residents provide the best times they're available to come out and get to know one another.

The association strongly encourages all residents to come to this meeting in order to make their desires known. It wants all residents to contribute to the growth of our community and looks forward to the input that can be offered.
