Sears to Close More Stores

The company has announced it will close 62 stores. Could its Laurel location be on the chopping block?

 

Sears Holding Corp. has announced that it plans to close 62 stores by this summer, according to reports.

The Baltimore Business Journal is reporting that the retailer will shutter 43 hometown stores, 10 hardware stores and 9 great indoors stores. This is in addition to about 120 Sears and Kmart stores the company closed last year.

It’s unclear how this will affect the , which is a showroom store, and whether it might survive the closings. Regionally, the chain  last year. A Sears in Landover is still open.
