The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Laurel and much of the surrounding region, with accumulations of up to 5 inches or more expected on Wednesday.
Precipitation is expected to begin as a mix of rain and snow, changing over to all snow Tuesday night. Wind gusts may reach up to 30 mph, according to the NWS.
The service also warns of difficult driving conditions and is urging residents to begin proper winter storm preparations.
The storm watch is in effect Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening.
