Man Robbed at Knifepoint in Maryland City Hotel

The incident happened early Tuesday at the Northeast Garden Inn.

Authorities say a man was robbed at knifepoint early Tuesday morning at a hotel in Maryland City.

According to Anne Arundel County police, officers responded to the Northeast Garden Inn (3400 Fort Meade Rd.) around 1:09 a.m. for a report of a robbery.

The male victim told police he had been standing on the second floor of the hotel speaking to a friend when he was approached by an unknown man.

The suspect reportedly showed a knife and demanded the man's money. When the victim said he didn't have any money, the robber searched his pocket, took his wallet, and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Police searched the area but were not able to locate the suspect. He is described as a black male in his late 20s, about 6 feet tall "with a stocky build and clean shaven." He was reportedly wearing a black cap, black t-shirt, and black pants at the time of the robbery.
