A Naval Academy professor is charged in the 2011 rape of a midshipman. Maj. Mark A. Thompson, 43, is undergoing an Article 32 hearing, which is similar to a grand jury hearing, at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC.

Two gun vendors were arrested in Timonium after they were caught selling illegal, high-capacity bullet magazines to undercover police at a local gun and knife show.

In light of the Sandy Hook shootings, some Maryland legislators are hoping to make their schools safer. Business: Mayor urges Trader Joe's to open another Maryland store, Whole Foods development on hold, speakeasy in Annapolis

Bowie's Mayor is hoping to get Trader Joe's CEO to visit the city and possibly open a grocery after many Bowie residents expressed interest in having a Trader Joe's nearby.

However, in another part of Prince George's County, a development plan involving the first Whole Foods store in the county has stalled after developers withdrew their plan.

, is closing all of its locations after the owners decided to sell. The family is hoping someone will buy up all four of their available locations.

An expansion is about to begin at Columbia Mall in the current L.L. Bean space. The 75,000 square-foot expansion will create new retail and restaurant space.

Government, Politics and Health: Politicians prepare for governor's race, improperly placed speed cameras

The flu virus is spreading across Maryland, but in as pharmacies are reporting limited quantities.

Even after a district judge found that a speed camera was missplaced, Montgomery County Police are not moving the speed camera.
