Police Giving Away Child ID Kits Saturday in West Laurel

The kits are designed to help police in case a child goes missing.

Prince George's County police will be distributing free Child ID kits this Saturday, March 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the West Laurel Community Building (16501 Supplee Ln., West Laurel).

The kits—which can be filled out with emergency contact information, pictures, DNA samples, and fingerprints—are designed to help police in the event that a child goes missing.

The packages also contain tips for children and parents on staying safe and avoiding a possible abduction.

Parents can pick up the kits and take them home to complete them.

Saturday's event is being run by the PGPD's District VI Community Oriented Police Section (COPS).
