Storms: Flight Delays at Dulles, Reagan, Baltimore Airports

People leaving the DC-Baltimore region will want to check with their airline before going to the airport Thursday.

Flight delays have already started racking up for people who want to fly out of Dulles International, Reagan National or Baltimore/Washington International airports.

The large network of storm systems heading into Virginia is causing headaches for travelers trying to leave the area.

At all three airports, arrival traffic is mostly on time.

Here is flight delay information as of noon Thursday: 

Baltimore/Washington International Airport: Like Dulles, BWI has gate and taxi delays of 75 to 90 minutes.

Reagan National Airport: Due to the weather, DCA has implemented a “traffic management program.” Some flights are experiencing gate holds and taxi delays of 45 minutes to an hour, and those are increasing.

Dulles International Airport: There are more substantial departure delays at IAD. There are gate holds and taxi delays of 75 to 90 minutes, and those are increasing.

The latest weather information indicates rain will start again in the Dulles area early this afternoon, increasing as the evening approaches.  These storms will move northeast toward Reagan National and BWI airports this afternoon and this evening.
