White Christmas Not Likely for Prince George's County

There may be precipitation on Sunday, but probably not the stuff of holiday cards.

If you've been dreaming of a white Christmas this year, it's our sad duty to report that the odds don't look good for Prince George's County.

As of Friday afternoon, The Weather Channel was predicting a 10% chance of precipitation in the Laurel area—but, if anything does come out of the clouds, it will be in the form of raindrops rather than snowflakes.

The forecast calls for a slight chance of showers after 10 a.m. Sunday with a daytime highs in the low 50s. Temperatures are expected to hover just above freezing both Saturday and Sunday nights.

The silver lining? Daytime temps are expected to remain mild next week, with a highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s leading up to New Years Day.
