Community Corner

Boxing In The Park

30 Laurel area teens and adults will face off in a boxing ring for “Boxing In The Park” event to highlight youth activities, sportsmanship and

community engagement on Saturday Oct. 12 at the Alice B. McCullough Field.

The Laurel Boys and
Girls Club will partner with community boxing gym Crawford Training and Fitness (CTF) to sponsor the event; it will

feature 15 amateur-boxing matches sanctioned by USA Boxing’s Potomac Valley
Association.

“Boxing In The Park” seeks to promote youth activities in
the Laurel region and encourage health and fitness within the community. During

the day’s activities, CTF will launch its Laurel-based nonprofit, Survival

Fitness, that will further promote wellness through affordable access to

world-class fitness training.

The event is free and open to the public and will be held
Saturday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. in the Alice
B. McCullough Field and Sturgis-Moore Recreation Area Park at 8th Street
& Montgomery Street in Old Town Laurel.

For questions, inquiries on
sponsorship, contact Robert Crawford at

for quickest response. All boxers interested in participating in the event must
have a current registration with
USA Boxing
and be at least 8-years of age.
