Laurel Native Pushes Forward on "The Voice"

Moses Stone heads to the live rounds on the hit singing competition.

Laurel native Moses Haughton has advanced further on NBC’s “” singing competition.

This week, Haughton, 25, who goes by name Moses Stone, has pushed into the competition's live round, according to The Laurel Leader. Haughton came out on top during the show’s country versus hip-hop showdown. He won the support of show mentor, singer Christina Aguilera, who moved him a step closer to the spring finale.

Haughton will appear in live tapings of the shows where viewers tuning in can cast a vote to move him forward in the competition. Haughton is a 2005  graduate and will be one of the contestants vying for a $100,000 prize.
