Brown vs Hogan

Anthony Brown vs. Larry Hogan

Who to vote for; well that depends.

If we were to allow the legalization of hemp in the State of Maryland like in Colorado, millions of dollars in revenue would come to the Maryland treasury and if you add the casino’s that will be a pretty good windfall.  I contend no taxes would have to be raised. However Mr. Brown did not learn a lesson about this election! SO this is where it gets dicey for Mr. Brown.

One it was a very low turnout for both parties; so there is not a mandate for Mr. Brown or Mr. Hogan. In fact democrats I know are pissed about higher taxes, the rain tax and the overkill on the recent gun law. Brown could reverse the past failed recent laws and legalize the hemp industry to gain revenue.  But being he most likely will not, I do not see him winning the election.

So he is stuck with more spending and the citizens are over taxed as it is. Thus the Hogan Factor comes to play.  The deck is against Mr. Brown who has no proven record in business, and numbers do not lie when it comes to tax increases these past eight years and our state being ranked nationally as one of the lowest in the country to open a business.

This does not mean it would be great under a Hogan governorship. He will cut hard and the people will be crying. Look folks if you want all the goodies that are promised you have to pay for it. There is a way to do it without increasing taxes you could also reduce them.

Voter turnout will not increase unless there is a reason to turn out. This puts Mr. Hogan at a wonderful advantage. Because the people are fed up and think .Why bother voting! But the GOP and the tea party are licking their chops.

This could be the upset that the GOP did not see.
