"Are You A Mighty Man of Valor?"

If God called you to do something huge would you do it? Would you question God, or would you just do it? Would you question your ability, and convince yourself that you are not good enough? I think that God has called many of us to do some great things, but we have allowed fear to stand in our way. But did you know that God uses the meek and lowly to do great things? Let's take a look at Gideon in the sixth chapter of Judges. Gideon was minding his own business threshing wheat in the winepress when in Judges 6:12, "... the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, "The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!" Gideon was not impressed. He began to question the Angel and doubt that God was really with him and his people (Judges 6:13). Gideon was looking at his present circumstances and not at what God had the ability to do through him.

As Gideon's story continues, we see how God assures him that He is with him.  Judges 6:14 is just the beginning of his journey, "Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” But like many of us, Gideon begins to question his own strength and ability.  In Judges 6:15 Gideon says, "... So he said to Him, “O my Lord,[a] how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” God continued to prove Himself to Gideon, and made him triumphant in battle. God took Gideon and his insecurities and turned him into a mighty man. No wait, God turned Gideon into a Mighty Man of Valor!

Are there some tasks in your life that you have put on the back burner? Begin to believe that You Are A Mighty Man of Valor. Begin to believe that God has already given you the strength to press forward and triumph in victory. God has already proven Himself to you, so come on, Mighty Man of Valor, let's get out of the winepress and onto the road of victory.  In the song, Finish Strong (Strong Finish), Jonathan Nelson reminds us that "God promise He'd be with me through every step that I take, in this race, by His grace. I'm going to have a Strong Finish because I have Strong Faith!"

Now that's a word!
