City of Laurel Crime: Beagles Stolen From Yard, Counterfeit Bill at Walgreens

A rundown of incidents from Feb. 11-15 provided by the Laurel Police Department.

The following is a rundown of reported crimes and police responses in the City of Laurel from Feb. 11-15, 2013. Incident details are provided by Laurel Police Department. Arrests do not necessarily indicate convictions.

MONDAY, FEB. 11

ALCOHOL VIOLATION, 100-blk Bowie Rd, 1:26 PM: Officers observed A 58-year-old suspect with an open container of alcohol in public. The suspect was arrested.

DRUG ARREST, 14100-blk Baltimore Ave, 6:58 PM: Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle. Marijuana was recovered and the 34-year-old driver was arrested.

ALCOHOL VIOLATION, 900-blk Carroll Ave, 8:45 PM: Officers made contact with and arrested a 45-year-old suspect for having an open container of alcohol in public.

DRUG ARREST, 1-blk C St, 9:29 PM: Officers responded to a call for service. Officers made contact with a 51-year-old suspect. Officers located marijuana and other drug paraphernalia, and the suspect was arrested.

DRUG ARREST, 1 Second St (Quality Inn), 1:41 AM: Officers conducting a periodic check of Quality Inn made contact with 3 subjects to the rear of the business. Officers located marijuana and two of the subjects, 25 and 22 years old, were arrested.

TUESDAY, FEB. 12

ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Lafayette Ave / Irving St, 11:59 AM: Two suspects, 54 and 53 years old, were both found to have open alcohol and subsequently arrested.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13

THEFT FROM AUTO, 14700-blk Shiloh Ct, 7:01 AM: Officers responded to this address and found two vehicles had been broken into. On both vehicles a window had been broken out, and a handicapped placard hanging from the rear view mirror had been stolen. 

THEFT FROM AUTO, 14140 Baltimore Ave (Famous Dave's), 6:22 PM: Officers responded and found a vehicle had been broken into while the owners were inside the restaurant eating. Several tools were stolen, along with electronic equipment. Investigation is ongoing. 

HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT, 15000-blk Baltimore Ave, 8:33 PM: Officers responded for the report of a three car accident. Prior to officers' arrival one of the vehicles fled the scene. Through investigation officers located the vehicle and the driver near his residence, and he was issued citations. 

STOLEN REGISTRATION PLATE, 14711 Baltimore Ave (Paymer and Phillips Auto) 10:30 PM: Officers responded for the report of a stolen registration plate. While a vehicle was at the business for repair, the registration plate was stolen. Investigation is ongoing.

FRIDAY, FEB. 15

TRESPASSING ARREST, 801 Eighth St (Laurel Park Apartments), 10:14 AM: Officers responded for a trespassing complaint. The management advised a subject that had previously been banned from the apartment complex was on their property. Upon arriving officers observed the 24-year-old subject walking away from the area. Officers attempted to stop the subject, and a short foot chase ensued. Morris was caught, and arrested.

THEFT, 8200-blk Harvest Bend Ln, 11:43 AM: Stolen motorcycle registration plate from a motorcycle in the parking lot.

THEFT, 15300-blk Arbory Way, 11:57 AM: Two Beagle dogs stolen from a backyard.

FRAUD, 600 Washington Blvd (Walgreens) 4:39 PM: Officers responded to the business for the report of a counterfeit bill being passed. Investigation is ongoing.
