Early Morning Apartment Fire Displaces Family

Blaze started in Laurel apartment around 1 a.m.

An early morning apartment fire has displaced a family in Laurel, according to Prince George's County Fire/EMS.

The fire was reported shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday at 34 Orchard Town Court. Firefighters from Laurel and Beltsville, along with fire units from Howard, Anne Arundel and Montgomery Counties were alerted for fire coming from an apartment building at the Orchard Town Apartments. 

First arriving units reported fire showing from the top floor balcony of the three-story apartment building. Firefighters entered the building and began extinguishing the flames. According to fire officials, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within 10 minutes of arriving on the  scene. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
