Few Details Emerge In Unsolved Russett Murder

Victim's family frustrated, says community president.

A month after a man was , few details have emerged about the killing, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Gregory Robert Sears, 36, of the 8000 block of Ians Alley, was shot after being approached by two males in his driveway at approximately 2:23 a.m. on Jan. 6, according to police reports . 

Sears was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he died

Since the homicide, police have provided little information about the investigation.

Police have stepped up patrols and offered an $8,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of suspects. Sears’ family has added $2,000 to the reward money.

“I think that some folks are expressing concerns,” said Rob Newman, community association president.  “The family has been out in the community expressing frustrations that there haven’t been suspects caught.”
