The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, a fire department spokesman said.

A woman was sent to the hospital Sunday afternoon after a fire engine collided with her vehicle in South Laurel, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. as responders were headed to a possible apartment fire in the 13800 block of Briarwood Drive.

According to Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady, an engine from the Calverton Fire/EMS Station collided with the victim's car at the intersection of Contee Road and Claxton Drive.
