Free Car Seat Safety Check in Laurel Thursday

The event will be held at the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department on Cherry Lane.

Find out if your little ones are buckled in correctly at the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department on Thursday, when the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) and the Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union (PGCFCU) will host a free car seat safety check.

The check, which is being done in cooperation with Maryland Kids In Safety Seats (KISS), is free and open to the public. Car seats must be installed before arrival.

Certified car seat technicians will be on site to ensure that car seats and booster seats have been installed properly. The check should take about 30 minutes. PGCFCU will replace the first four car seats deemed unsafe free of charge.

The event will run at the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 14. Call PGPD at 301-772-4710 for more information.
