Authorities say a man high on PCP shot another man in Calverton before stripping off his clothes and climbing onto a fire truck.
Mohamed Sulaiman Bah, 24, of Silver Spring faces attempted murder, first degree assault, and other related charges in connection with the incident, according to Prince George's County police.
Around 6 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the 11900 block of Beltsville Drive for a report of a car accident, PGPD officials said in a statement.
When police arrived, they reportedly found a man in the back seat of a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Investigators said Bah fled from the scene of the shooting and made his way to the Calverton Shopping Center, where he apparently removed his clothing and climbed onto a ladder truck.
Bah "refused to comply with police orders to come down from the truck and remained there for several minutes acting in a belligerent manner," police said.
When Bah did come down, an officer tasered him, and police took him into custody. Several minutes of the fire truck standoff were captured in a YouTube video by user crotti2009.
Investigators reportedly recovered the gun used in the incident. PGPD officials are set to hold a press conference on the case Thursday afternoon.
"We can NOT make this stuff up," Prince George's County Fire Chief Marc Bashoor tweeted. "Hope young man gets help needed."
