Police found the deceased victim with "obvious signs of trauma to his upper body," according to a report.

Updated (10:22 p.m.)—Police said they are investigating the death of a man found at his home in Laurel Friday morning.

When police arrived in the 8300 block of Frostwood Drive Friday at about 10:30 a.m., they found the deceased victim with "obvious signs of trauma to his upper body," according to a report.

Police have not yet identified the victim, or determined cause of death, but believe he was an adult male who lived at the residence. Other occupants of the home were accounted for and were not harmed, police said.

The body of the victim was transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner for positive identification and an autopsy.

The crime does not appear to be random, and authorities said they do not believe there is a public safety concern.

Authorities are now interviewing the victim's family and friends to further the investigation.
