How Do You Keep Count of Gang Activity in Your Area? Patch on the Police Beat

Area law enforcement are in the process of finalizing 2010 crime data, which will be presented to the County Council Public Safety Committee this spring. But there seems to be some debate about killings referenced as “gang-related.” Lt. Dinish Patil, deputy director of the Montgomery County Police Special Investigations Unit, took over the the division in August and is now working to clarify the new policies. With 12 residential burglaries and attempted burglaries in one part of the county since January, police are asking residents to be on the lookout and help identify possible suspects involved in a string of recent break-ins. Columbia Patch has more.

Baltimore County police arrested three men in what they say was a multi-county car part theft scheme.
