Laurel Burglar Botches Robbery Attempt

Here is the Laurel police blotter from June 23-July 7.

Laurel police continue to search for a man who attempted to break into an apartment but fled after seeing the resident was at home.

The incident happened along the 300 block of Main Street on July 7.  According to police, the suspect broke a window to an apartment in an attempt to gain entry. The resident was home, and when he moved the blinds, the suspect fled from the rooftop in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’10”, 160 pounds, wearing faded blue jeans and a white T-shirt.

Tire and rims were stolen off a parked GMC Denali SUV truck.

14700 Block Baltimore Avenue    

A wallet was stolen from a business by a white male, 14-18 years of age, 5’6”, 110 lbs, wearing a blue T-shirt riding a bicycle.

15400 Block Arbory Way       

Four 17-inch Vogue wheels and tires were stolen from a parked Cadillac.

300 Block Carroll Avenue       

A Raleigh Spirit 3-speed bicycle, white in color, was stolen from a shed.

500 Block Seventh Street       

U.S. currency and a credit card were stolen from a wallet while at the library.

Unit Block Riverview Court   

Five U.S. Saint Gaudens $20 gold coins were stolen from an apartment.

100 Block Bowie Road       

An AT&T Apple iPhone was stolen from a shopping cart while the victim was placing bags into her vehicle.

15000 Block Baltimore Avenue   

A black Bank of America purse containing credit cards and U.S. currency was stolen from a restaurant.

100 Block Bryan Court       

A Pioneer CD/radio player was stolen from a parked truck.

STOLEN AUTOS

7600 Block South Arbory Lane     

2004 Suzuki motorcycle, blue and white in color, no tags.

14600 Block Baltimore Avenue     

Entry was attempted through the front door of a convenient store.

07/01/11  

7800 Block Contee Road       

Entry was attempted by trying to force open the front door. Entry was not gained.

07/03/11  

400 Block Fifth Street       

Entry was gained into a shed and the following property taken: Kawasaki KX 125 dirt motorcycle, Spitfire helmet, Fox chest shoulder pads and Fox riding boots. The victim recovered some of the property in a classroom building at Laurel Elementary School, including the motorcycle. The only item missing is the Fox riding boots.

7600 Block North Arbory Way     

No signs of forced entry. Taken was two 357 Ruger revolvers, Walter PPK 380 semi-automatic and ammunition.
