Laurel Conducting Sobriety Checkpoint Aug. 23 on Route 1

The checkpoint will operate from 11:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

Submitted by the City of Laurel:

Mayor Craig A. Moe and Chief Richard McLaughlin have announced that the Laurel Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 11:00pm to 3:00am in the 100 block of Northbound Route 1.

Mayor Moe and Chief McLaughlin agree the way to reduce motor vehicle injuries and deaths is to remove impaired drivers from our streets. By conducting periodic sobriety checkpoints, it will raise the level of public awareness and inform citizens about the efforts that are being used to identify and apprehend impaired drivers.
