Lockdown Lifted at Laurel Schools After Search for Armed Suspect
The manhunt was concentrated on Contee Road, an official said.
Authorities say Laurel High School and Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School were placed on precautionary lockdown Thursday afternoon as police searched for a possible armed suspect.
Police activity in the area has since ended and normal operations have resumed, according to Prince George's County Public Schools officials.
City of Laurel spokesman Pete Piringer said Prince George's County police first notified Laurel officials around 12:30 p.m. of the search, which was concentrated on Contee Road near the Central Parke at Victoria Falls retirement community (13601 Bell Chasse Blvd., South Laurel).
