Laurel Man Dies In Burtonsville Car Crash

Man was only fatality in single-vehicle crash.

A West Laurel man is dead after being involved in a single-vehicle crash in Burtonsville over the weekend, according to Montgomery County Police.

The incident occurred along Route 29 Saturday afternoon near Howard County when Glenn Clarence Mills II, 56, lost control of his vehicle and drove off the roadway into a ravine over a small creek just north of the Route 198 intersection, according to a report in The Gazette.

Mills was taken to Laurel Regional Hospital but died later that day from his injuries. Montgomery County Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit are unsure why Mills veered off the road, but have said it is not a result of Friday’s storm and subsequent power outages, according to The Gazette.
