Laurel Police Bust Would-Be Home Burglar

Laurel police blotter: Laurel man gets caught, burglar leaves faucets on in home.

Laurel Police have arrested and charged a man who attempted to break into a residential home last week.

The incident happened along the 1200 block of Marton Street on Feb. 6. According to police, Ricardo A Reyes Melgar, 22, of Pirate Lane attempted to force his way through a door leading into the home while the family was inside. Police were called and arrested Melgar at the rear of the home. He was charged with burglary.

Laurel Police are investigating a bizarre break-in that happened last week in which the suspect broke into a home only to leave the faucets running.

 The incident happened along the 15000 block of Cherrywood Drive on Feb. 6.  According to police, the home was vacant and no property taken but the suspects turned the faucets on allowing water to over flow and cause damage to the floors and ceilings.

Two cell phones stolen from T Mobile Phone Store by two black females who fled in a Audi, green in color with Maryland tags.

 50 inch LG flat screen television, Chanel purse and a HP printer stolen from the victim’s property placed outside during an eviction.
