Laurel Police Hold Sobriety Checkpoint
Operation Checkpoint Strike Force made another appearance in Laurel over the weekend.
Members of the Laurel Police Department conducted a random sobriety checkpoint on Route 198 on Saturday, September 17.
More than 800 cars passed through the checkpoint. Officers passed out literature to drivers in part of a state-funded campaign through the Maryland State Highway Administration to educate drivers about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal drugs.
