Laurel Police to Set Up Sobriety Checkpoint Friday Night
Laurel Police will set up a sobriety checkpoint this Friday evening, June 27. Officials are releasing the location ahead of time.

If you plan to imbibe Friday night, line up a sober driver.
The Laurel Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, June 27, from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the 100 block of Second Street (Northbound Route 1).

Mayor Craig Moe and Police Chief Richard McLaughlin said in a release that getting impaired drivers off our streets is critical to reduce vehicle injuries and deaths. Conducting periodic sobriety checkpoints raises public awareness and informs residents about the efforts that are being used to identify and apprehend impaired drivers, the city says.
