Malcolm has been charged with robbing the PNC bank at 7451 Van Dusen Road on Oct. 28. Police said he stole more than $1,300 and fled the bank.

According to police, Malcolm returned to the same bank on Nov. 9 but was foiled in his attempt to enter after an employee who recognized him from the first robbery locked the door.

An employee who answered the phone Friday at the PNC Bank said employees couldn’t talk about the first robbery—and the second botched attempt.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Malcolm for the Monrovia and Woodbine bank robberies and Malcolm was located and arrested on Feb. 8 at a hotel in Odenton, police said.

A day later, on Feb. 9, he was charged with the Laurel bank robbery and attempted bank robbery, police said.

Laurel Police Department Detective Cpl. S. Ivory worked with Howard County detectives, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, and Maryland State Police on the investigation.
