Laurel Woman Pleads Guilty to Robberies Involving Son

A Laurel woman pled guilty to federal charges on Tuesday for her role in two robberies of armored car employees, according to the Maryland U.S. Attorney's Office.

Regina McCullom—also known as Regina Wilson—faces up to 20 years in prison for conspiracy to commit robbery as well as five years for a related gun charge, prosecutors said. McCullom is scheduled to be sentenced in January.

According to the plea agreement, McCullom, 49, and her son Erick Wilson of Ellicott City staged two gunpoint robberies of Dunbar Armored vehicles in 2008 and 2009 with the help of other co-conspirators.

In 2008, McCullom, Wilson—who was an employee of Dunbar at the time—and another conspirator carried out a robbery of Wilson's truck while he was on his delivery route in Washington, D.C. They made off with $210,000 in the incident, according to the plea agreement.

Later, in 2009, McCullom was involved in robbery of a Dunbar Armored car in Silver Spring in which $160,000 and a handgun were taken. In that instance, McCullom admitted to transporting the cash and gun to a hotel where the stolen money was divided.

Wilson also pled guilty to several robberies, including a 2010 robbery of a Dunbar Armored vehicle in the parking lot of the Dorsey Hall Giant supermarket in Ellicott City. Wilson is scheduled to be sentenced in November.
