Man, Woman Robbed at Gunpoint in Russett

The pair was reportedly waiting to meet someone about renting an apartment.

Police say a man and woman waiting to view an apartment in Russett were robbed at gunpoint Thursday evening.

According to Anne Arundel County police, the pair was standing in the area of Summit View and Ridgemere Crossing to meet a man about renting a unit.

When they arrived at the apartment complex around 6:30 p.m., three men approached them and told them they were being robbed. One of the trio showed a handgun and demanded their money and cell phones, police said.

The man was instructed to lie face down on the ground, at which point the suspects reportedly went through his pockets and took his wallet and two cell phones. The suspects then fled the area, according to police.

The first suspect was described as a black male with a thin build, 5 feet 9 inches tall, who was wearing a black do-rag, gray shirt, and black shorts at the time. He reportedly left in a red Ford Explorer.

The second suspect was described as a black male, 5 feet 2 inches tall, who was wearing a red shirt and black do-rag at the time. He reportedly left in a black Mercedes SUV.

The third suspect, who showed the handgun, was described as a balck male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, who was wearing a green shirt and black do-rag at the time. He reportedly fled on foot.
