One Dead as Fire Rips Through Maryland City Home

The blaze broke out on Zona Street around 8:30 a.m.

One person is dead after flames tore through a home in Maryland City Wednesday morning, authorities said. 

The blaze broke out around 8:30 a.m. in a mobile home on Zona Street just off of Brock Bridge Road.

Anne Arundel County fire officials told WBAL that crews arriving on scene heard explosions inside, possibly caused by ammunition going off.

WUSA captured overhead video of the blaze, which fully engulfed the home.

No other injuries were reported in the fire. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
