Person Killed in BW Parkway Crash

One person is dead and three other seriously injured after a Thursday night crash along Baltimore-Washington Parkway near Laurel.

One person is dead and three others are injured after a car traveling on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway ran off the roadway late Thursday evening, according to reports.

The incident happened near the Route 197 exit to Laurel in the northbound lanes shortly after 10 p.m. According to Prince George's County Fire/EMS, four people were trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued. One person subsequently died and the three others were seriously injured.

Officials said the crash closed the highway; at least two victims had to be flown via helicopter to hospitals. Fire officials have not released the name of the deceased.
