Police Bust Macy's Thief With Infant, 7-11 Robber

A man who shoplifted from the Macy's couldn't flee from police while ridding with an infant.

A man looking to spend some quality time with his 3-month old infant was busted by Laurel Police for shoplifting from the Macy’s Department Store while fleeing the scene with the child, according to Laurel Police.

The incident happened June 10 along the 14700 block of Baltimore Avenue. According to police, a 20-year old Hyattsville man was seen snatching items from racks in the store but fled to a black sports utility vehicle without paying. A Laurel Police office spotted the truck on Cherry Lane Road and pulled the driver over. Inside the vehicle, the officer discovered the stolen items and the man’s infant child, who was not secured properly in the car.

The man was issued criminal citations for theft and confining an unattended child. While in police custody, officers fed and changed the baby’s diaper before they were released.

7-11 Robber Gets Nabbed By Laurel Police

A teenager who robbed a 7-11 store with a knife was caught by Laurel Police and charged with armed robbery, according to reports.

The incident happened June 14 along the 700 block of Gorman Avenue shortly after 3:41 a.m.  According to police, an 18-year old man displayed a knife while in the store and demanded money from the employee. After obtaining the money, the teen fled on food in an unknown direction.  Police were called shortly after and managed to find the suspect but he outmaneuvered them and fled into an apartment complex. Police eventually caught him along the 800 block of Greenhill Avenue. The knife used during the robbery and the money taken were recovered by police.

Four tires and rims were stolen from a parked Mercedes.

700 Block Washington Boulevard      

Nine tires were stolen from a storage area at Monroe Muffler.

400 Block Carroll Avenue     

A Wallet was stolen from a car. The wallet contained U.S. Currency, Brazilian driver’s license, and visa paperwork and a credit card.

 300 Block Montrose Avenue      

Office supplies were stolen from Big Top Cleaners by a female who left the area before police arrived. Laurel Police located the defendant in the 100 block of Woodland Court and placed her under arrest. All property taken was recovered. Defendant was released on a criminal citation pending the court date.

Purse stolen from a parked SUV truck.

7300 Block Summerwind Circle     

A Sculpture that is two-feet high and in the shape of an hourglass, pink and green in color,  was stolen from the front porch.

Garmin GPS system was stolen from a parked car.

Four tires and rims stolen off a parked corvette.

2007 Yamaha YZFR6 motorcycle, Burgundy and black in color with Maryland tag9D3250 and a 2006 Raptor ATV, black and yellow in color stolen from a trailer parked on the corner of Sixth and Prince George Street was stolen.

Unit Block Second Street     

 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, 4 door, Black in color with Florida tags S500VC. This vehicle was rented from an rental agency and never returned. A warrant has been obtained for the suspect.

Attempted burglary at Mr. Tire. Suspect (s) attempted to gain entry through a side door.
