Police Continue Search For 'Heavy Set' Female Robber

Laurel Police blotter: female commits strong arm robbery, police make quick arrest of armed robber.

Laurel Police continue to search for a woman believed to be responsible for a strong arm robbery near Main Street on Jan.22.

The robbery happened along A Street in the late evening.  According to police, a male victim was leaving Sportsman Pub on Route 1 and was followed by a heavy set female.   Once the victim arrived home, he opened his door to take his dog out at which time the female walked inside his home. As the victim went to another room, the suspect went into the room of a 72-year old woman began going through her purse.  A struggled ensued between the two women, according to police.  The male victim was then able to take the purse from the suspect at which time the suspect grabbed money from the victim's pants pocket then ran out the door and was last seen going towards Washington Boulevard, according to police.

No one was injured. The suspect is described as a heavy set white female, 25 to 30 years of age, 200 pounds, long hair wearing prescription glasses, black hooded jacket and blue jeans.

Laurel Police have arrested and charged a 20-year old Washington, D.C. man with armed robbery. 

The incident happened along the 14400 block of Laurel Place on Jan. 22, according to police.  The defendant and another man attempted to robbed a female who was parked at the Citi Bank ATM machine. Suspects approached the victim with a long rifle. The victim drove away after seeing the two suspects approach.  Police set up a perimeter and located the defendant. He was positively identified as one of the suspects on Mulberry Street.
